Who are we?

The Stanley Residents' Group volunteers work together to improve our local environment, to bring people together, and to help address local concerns or issues within Stanley, Wakefield, UK.

We are a community of friendly, passionate people working together to improve our local area. Whether it's organising events, fundraising, or making positive changes, there's something for everyone to get involved in.

Santa Claus is checking his list to see who has been naughty and who has been nice.  On his global travels he will be making brief stop offs at . . .

Outwood Memorial Hall, 1-2 Victoria Street, Outwood, from 17:00 - 19:00​​​.​

 

Stanley

​Wednesday 3rd December 2025. 

Stanley Community Centre, Lake Lock Road, Stanley, from 17-00 - 19:00.

Santa arrives on his sleigh down Lake Lock Road around 17:30.

Santa Ho Ho Ho

Lots of local community groups and stalls will be there, including the SRG with our "Wine or Water" game and a new game for the children this year, "Find the Christmas Pudding".

There will be a free children's ride and candyfloss -  Every child gets a Selection Box and the chance to see Santa.

​​The Annual Spectacular Gala 2026 - A date for your Diary

The date for our Annual Gala has now been set as 1st August 2026 between 12:00 and 16:00 and will be held once more at Stanley St' Peters Church.  We have already started securing stalls and activity providers, both old and new, for the event.  More details will be provided nearer the time

Scarecrow Trail - 2025 - Results are now in

Our Annual Scarecrow Trail is an opportunity to show off your creative skills.

This year the event  ran from Saturday 30th August to Sunday 7th September.

Our Annual Flower, Vegetable and Baking Show ran alongside the Stanley Gala with numerous entries and Trophies, Prizes and Rosettes with Best in Show awarded

SRG Meetings

The Stanley Residents Group hold regular meetings to discuss and organise  upcoming events as well as any matters arising within the Stanley area.  If you are interested in helping out in the SRG, then please feel free to come along to one of our meetings and discover what's going on.
